    PiMP Rig #2: wndsnb’s X11 14x MSI 7950 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC, 7x Sapphire 7950 Dual X machine!
As of 2014-08-13, this was cranking out 74 MH/s!
When mining x11, It uses 3300W total at the wall and does about 74MH/sec. With a single floor fan pointed at the shelf the GPUs run at 62 deg. C with the fans around 50%. I’ll probably never run scrypt again, but the supplies have enough capacity to run the rigs on scrypt at about 5500W at the wall.
I built my setup on top of a 36″ wide, 18″ deep and 72″ high Edsal steel industiral shelf. I cut up some .75″ aluminum angle stock and drilled and tapped holes to hang the GPUs from. It currently has 21 7950s and 3 motherboards, but I have another 12 GPUs and 2 mobos on deck ready to be added next time I can find a few hours to wire it up.
For power supplies I use one standard 650 Watt atx power supply along with two 930W dell 2800 series server PSUs per rig. The server power supplies provide 75A each at 12V on a single rail, and they can be found on ebay for under $20 shipped. I wire up a connector with a relay so the server power supplies are slaved to the atx supply.

Why did you switch to PiMP?
I started off with BAMT, switched to Pimp because of the active development and the support for so many different algorithms.
What do you like best? least?
I love the ease of use, ease of upgrading, and the availability of help on the irc channel.
Why did you donate to PiMP?
It’s a great product, and it deserves to be supported. Hopefully the donations will keep the project active.
What do you think of the way we develop and add features?
The vote with your wallet method is great. I’m pretty amazed at how quickly new releases come out and new features are added.
