Phoenixminer 4.0b vs Claymore dual 11.9 - AMD GPU
Smartguy last edited by Smartguy
I recently had issues with my Nvidia rigs on Claymore, i then changed miner to Phoenixminer and those rigs are performing better without any errors till now. (3 days) However this is not the case for AMD GPUs (RX570-580) even if reported hashrate seems a little bit better.
I noticed there is lower low and lower high with Phoenixminer and also current hashrate never goes over expected. On 6xRX580Nitro+8GB, the average valid shares on 5 hours was about 160 valid shares for Claymore and about 150 for Phoenixminer, with a minimum of 2% stale share and a maximum of 5% only for Phoenixminer for only 0-2% on Claymore.
These are screenshots (the most accurate i had saved...) of valid shares performed on 1 hour for the same rig, the first picture with claymore and 2nd one for Phoenixminer. The red arrows are rigs that changed miner.
Now this is graphs for 1 day of mining. Please note that it is mixed with the rest of my farm and mining is still a random thing so values may change about 5% to be precise.
I thought 1 day would not be enough to represents a "full cycle of randomness" so i did my personnal observation on 2 days (could be more accurate with more data) and difference is not negligible.
To conclude i would say that less fee is great but miner still has to prove that it can perform better for AMD GPUs. ;)
I hope you enjoyed my post and i wish you all happy holiday and a prosperous new year ! :)
