G-Technology USB3 drive with SATA port

  • Staff

    Hi there,
Can I install and run PIMP from an external USB drive that has a SATA connector?
The drive is not an SSD but has a speed of 7200 RPM. Is the SATA port sufficient for PIMP?
    Thanks!

  • If your system will boot it, you should be fine. Most SATA SSD and HDD seem to work fine with PiMP. You can write the image with USB connector/enclosure/dongle or directly using SATA.
