Welcome to the PiMP OS and Miner.farm forum.
Can PiMP support both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs in the same rig?
I have done so but I cannot make it work. amd card is posting after a gputool config reset as id=4 but i cannot run the amd in it's own sgminer instance.
@redfred5 what does the screen of the miner show? and for more accurate diagnosis, run the
helpmecommand and put the helpme link here.

Sgminer wont start. However I stopped using SGminer and used claymore instead. I found the sgminer binary and ran it by itself with the -n switch to see what gpu-platforms it runs on and it only showed NVidia. So the (amd) sgminer bin in the pimp installer apparently is getting confused about what is onboard. This is the result:
:# /opt/miners/sgminer/sgminer -n
[11:01:33] CL Platform vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
[11:01:33] CL Platform name: NVIDIA CUDA
[11:01:33] CL Platform version: OpenCL 1.2 CUDA 9.0.229
[11:01:33] Platform devices: 4
[11:01:33] 0 GeForce GTX 1070
[11:01:33] 1 GeForce GTX 1070
[11:01:33] 2 GeForce GTX 1070
[11:01:33] 3 GeForce GTX 1070
[11:01:33] 4 GPU devices max detected
It does not even see GPUID=4 which is the RX580.
Here is the helpme

Merged, thanks :)
Seems like power, riser before anything else. Have to do the dance.
Time to shuffle up and find your hardware issue. Here's the music you need: https://forum.getpimp.org/topic/53/the-dance-physical-hardware-troubleshooting Good luck PiMP! We'll be here!

You also need to disable the onboard GPU and perform other required settings in the BIOS.
i suspect this is an sgminer only issue. the helpme shows the card is detected fine, claymore is running it alone with no issues. sgminer -n is the one showing only 1 platform installed per my post with the invalid GPUs. this is a non issue for me because its working with claymore, but you folks may want to attempt reproducing or isolating why sgminer seems to insist that there is only nvidia gpus installed when everything else detects the amd fine.
@redfred5 It happens when integrated graphics are enabled in the mobo BIOS.
i can confirm that the integrated graphics are not enabled.
Your helpme says otherwise. Check everything again from the link above.
Some mobos will enable iGPU by "Fallback" if it detects a "Fault" (riser connected without GEN2/GEN1 settings) or hardware issue... Can try simplifying rig down to 1 GPU in first x16 slot and verify proper operation/mining then build up from there.
