invalid device function problem

  • Greetings folks,
I'm a bit new to this and searching hasn't pointed me in any necessary directions yet... so here goes.

Got the hardware and got Pimp... originally had 3 gt 610's to get started... now have pulled them and have 2 GeForce GT 730's with 4G... help output is here: https://helpme.getpimp.org/A15593-1523831259.html

Miner won't run... same error I was getting with the 610's... thought it was related to ram which was no big deal and I half expected the ram to be an issue. So, just got the 730's and am getting the same errors as seen below. trying with more than 1 miner to see various output. Any suggestions are much appreciated folks. I am wanting to get a second rig going once the bugs are handled with this one.

    Output from the screen...

    [/root]:# pimp --debug 1

For normal operation, stop the miner using Control+C,
then start it using 'pimp --start 1' or the minerfarm agent console.

  • Support

    Hello Lee,

Thank you for providing your helpme link and the details on the error you are getting re etc mining on your Nvidia GT 730 cards.

I can see from your helpme file you are using pimp OS version 2.3.31 Nvidia, as such you will need to upgrade to the latest version of the pimp OS currently 2.5.1 as it has the latest Nvidia drivers that should hopefully resolve the problem.

Let us know how you get on.
    Best Louis

GT 730 is not listed as a compatible GPU for mining by the nvidia driver - you will have to purchase GPUs that are capable of mining.
Generally $50 GPU is not "performance/gaming equipment needed for mining"
    Thanks
