How to get rig to point to new IP
tnewbold1 last edited by
I switched internet providers and got a new DHCP server in the process. The new server has a different set of numbers. I cannot get my mining rigs to 'forget' the old IP and get a new one from the DHCP server. I've tried sudo dhclient -r but when I run sudo dhclient the old IP comes back. I don't know where that old number is coming from.
Hey mate. For faster help, best to jump on the discord channels. ;)
To answer your question though.. copy and past the following...
sudo nano /etc/netplan/01-netcfg.yaml
Hash out the dhcp, and unhash the 4 next to the ip's. When you have amended the numbers, ctrl and x, Y, Enter to save. Then run....
sudo netplan apply
You can now ssh in with your new IP and rb. All will be good. Be careful with spaces etc or you'll break it.
Below is a little shot of what it should look like.
Hope that helps mate. And thanks for supporting PiMP. :) Happy mining.
