PCI-e Bus error
-
I'm getting pci-e buss errors when some of the gpus are plugged in.
Is this a rise error or mb settings?
-
Do the cards still work? Does the error say something like "severity=corrected"? If so its a known issue with the linux kernel that really doesn't matter but can be silenced if it annoys you.
Hope that helps!

It looks like this.
pci-e errorWith certain cards plugged into certain ports pimp wont boot and it just scrolls on the screen with pci-e bus error as pictured.
I can get two cards working on the first two ports
then the next 3 cards on the next three ports give me the error
I thought it was risers so swapped some out
but weirdly enough the 3rd card works on the 2nd port when plugged in on its own but not the 3rd port
Not sure how to troubleshoot this

Hello Sean,
Please make sure that you’ve made the necessary changes in the Bios, I.e., set Gen1 / onboard gpu to disable / uefi to enabled, see post for more detail: https://forum.getpimp.org/topic/9/setting-up-motherboards-for-miningBest Louis

It's set to gen 2
-
Just tried gen 1 aswell and I still get the pci-e error
I have the Asus Prime Z270-P

Hello Sean,
I don’t have Your exact board, but hears my tutorial with pics for bios settings for my Asus Strix B250F gaming motherboard:I would also just ry with one gpu, and also check for the latest bios firmware too.
-
The mb settings look ok unless I'm missing something. Could it be something else? Bad riser? Bad GPU?
-
@sean
Yes Sean - check everything, also start off with one gpu get it working then the second gpu, etc. This way you can find the root cause.
Best Louis
